Dear Ella,
As much as I try to contain you in a small little shell, you decide its best to spread those little wings and leap.
When we started you on solids, we wanted to do it slowly, but no, you wanted mouthfuls of mush. No baby steps for this girl.
When we go exploring in the stroller, you want to be in the midst of all the action, perching yourself forward to make sure you don't miss any of the action. No naps for this girl.
And it wasn't any different when you started becoming more mobile.
You used to hate tummy time. Cry, scream, yell, no tummy time for you. But lately, its been the exact opposite. When I put you down for bedtime, you roll yourself over onto your belly and perch your butt in the air, a lot like a turtle. When you see your daddy aka your favorite person in the world, you lunge out of my arms, no matter that you are no where near him. Bath time has become an adventure all its own. You can't be left alone for a split second. I think you enjoy the fluidity of the water and how easily you can move around and choose to become an acrobat in the tub. Which has lead to some close calls, even if i'm right there, you still wiggle like a pro.
Today you held onto me to stand, you pretty much use anything you can get your little hands on to hoist yourself up. I know before I know it, a blink, you'll be talking in full sentences. And I will enjoy that moment when you give me my first kiss and hug. It will be the sweetest day. Just like the moment you yelled out 'mama'. I am your mama and so so proud. These moments of discovery and growth are bittersweet, as I constantly struggle with how quickly time flies. I enjoy every second with you, don't ever think that just because you're grumpy or crying I don't find the beauty in the moment. You still wake to feed every night, but when you start sleeping thru the night and need me less to comfort you, i'll miss the walks back and forth in my sleepy daze.
Our next little milestone will be teaching you how to give kisses. Its sure to be a crowd pleaser!
love, momma.
