Squash!

Butternut squash that is! So after much deliberation and research (ask Daddy, I drive him nuts with all the stuff I am constantly looking up!) oh and talking to your doctor, we decided to try solids. Dr. Z said that it was ok to start you on solids, I told her we wanted to wait until you were at least 6 months old. But she said she had recently attended a few lectures where their thought was that waiting too long might lead to more allergic reactions. So I said ok, we'll try it out. I told her I didn't want to start you out on rice cereal, because even though its iron rich, veggies pack a bigger punch of vitamins. We already had a butternut squash at home, so I roasted it, scooped it out and pureed it, and guess what!? You liked it. Well, I'm guessing you liked it based on the fact that you didn't spit it out all over the place, you actually ate it! Yay baby girl! Of course were starting out with small, small amounts and you're still getting plenty of breast milk. Making your food is so fun and easy too. Its great that we know exactly whats going in your food and your system, since were the ones making it!

You also got your second set of shots, but I stuck to my plan of breast feeding you and holding you while it was happening, and it really helped you out. You had stopped crying by the time we left the doctor's office and you slept the whole ride home. You weren't very fussy, but you were running a little hot today so I gave you a tiny bit of medicine and it seems to have helped. Daddy isn't feeling very well, he's got something going on with his throat :( Feel better Daddy!
