Hi baby...sorry for not writing in what seems like forever, there has been so much going on around here lately.
For starters, Mommy got really sick last week, fever, chills, bodyache and all. Turns out I had mastisis, and once I had some antibiotics and rest (as much as a new mommy can get), I was back to being silly mommy. I gotta admit, it was a little scary though, being home alone with you while daddy was at work, not feeling well at all and hoping that you wouldn't wake up. I didn't feel strong enough. It all started with me having too much milk, so I pumped 4 ounces, and went to sleep figuring you'd be awake in no time to feed. I woke up around 2am, teeth chattering, freezing. I just thought it was really cold, so I turned on the heater, grabbed a blanket and laid back down. But I couldn't go back to sleep, I was still soooo cold, thats when I knew something wasn't right. My teeth were chattering, I was shaking uncontrollably and I felt so tired. Daddy was at work, so I called him and asked him to come home. I knew if you woke up, I wouldn't feel safe picking you up seeing as how I was so weak. Luckily you slept right thru, not waking until around 4. I tried pumping, but I couldn't get anything out, if it weren't for you and your great latch, I don't know what I would've done! I joke to daddy that you saved me, but you really did. I tried pumping for about an hour, but I couldn't get anything. You were a big help little bear!
Then we went back to sleep for a few hours, but by 7am you were up as usual, and with only 3 hours of sleep, the morning was no fun! I mustered the strength to get you to the living room to watch a little Sesame Street while I tried to wake up. You know, mommies don't ever really get sick days, we're on call 24/7! You were great enough to want a nap a few hours later, which let me catch up on some sleep too, whew!
I still wasn't feeling great, so I took my temp. and realized I had a slight fever. I called my doc and they prescribed some antibiotics. After another nap and some delirious moments, the day was over. The next day I was feeling much better and less lethargic, thank goodness.
For a while you were sleeping great without your swaddle, only waking twice at night to feed...not the case lately! Now you've started to toss and turn, sleeping less peacefully and last night I had to swaddle you because you were kicking your legs and arms so much. I wasn't sure if you needed to be burped again, if you were hungry, so I fed you again and burped you, but still nothing. I know you've been taking less naps during the day now, but thats supposed to be normal. Where you used to take many 3 hour naps, you now only take 2 naps that last between 1-2 hours, so I'm hoping this period of restless sleep is short lived.
You're supposed to be moving into your crib soon, which means you'll be sleeping in the next room, but if you're restless at night, nobody will be sleeping much! I'm already having a hard enough time getting used to the fact that you'll no longer be at arms reach, I go back and forth on whether we should bring your crib into our room. Daddy thinks its time for you to be in your own room, but you're still so little to me! *sigh* Whats a mommy to do?
Other than that, you're making strides in your development. You've put your binkie in your mouth many times, you're sitting up more and more each day, you follow us around the room, no more hiding from your incredible eye! You like playing with toys more now, although you get really frustrated if you can't get a proper grasp on whatever you have in hand, its pretty cute to see you furrow your brows and focus.
Its nap time now, so i'll see if I can unwind enough to nap! Love you Ellabear!!!
-love, mommy!
