Hi little Ella bear! Sorry I haven't had the chance to write to you in 2 days. Yesterday we took you to the doctor for your shots...no fun! But guess what...you're a whopping 11lbs. 3 oz.
Mommy & Daddy couldn't be more proud of you! You've got quite the appetite so its no wonder this growth spurt you went through added some little rolls, and we love them! So despite the good news, we also had to give you your shots. Not sure who it was worse for, you, Mommy or Daddy! Daddy had to sit on my lap to block the view of you getting shots, but Daddy said he got teary eyed. Oh no. When it was all over, all I could do was hold you & tell you it was going to be ok, but you cried for a while anyway. Then you fell asleep on the way back home, my poor little baby, poked and prodded. You were doing fine for a while, but then you started to run a small fever, and of course, I worried, but Daddy gave you a little medicine, swaddled you, and held you until you felt better. Soon enough, the fever was gone.
We thought we were going to be in for quite the night, since you were fussing & obviously not feeling well...and you did fuss for a little while, but guess what? You slept wonderfully thru the night, only waking to feed and right back to bed. But I could tell your appetite was affected by the whole ordeal, since you only fed a little bit here and there.
This morning you were pretty much back to your old self! You're such a strong little girl, I can see it in your eyes, tired & red, when you felt defeated by the shots & all this new stuff running thru your body, but you were content falling asleep in our arms & we were more than happy to do anything to make you feel better. That seemed to be the best medicine of all!
Its been an action packed couple of days for us here. This morning, as I was on my way to the doctors, the car started making a crazy sound, and I panicked, fearing the worst...
So I got on the phone with Daddy & he said it was probably just a flat tire by the sounds of it, and sure enough, it was just a shredded tire, nothing too expensive to fix. I was glad you were at home with Daddy, safe & not stuck on the side of the freeway with Mommy. I could hear you over the phone, and it just made me want to run home to you. Luckily, I got a ride from Uncle Art & was home soon enough. Daddy took care of the rest, always saving the day! Love you Daddy!
To thank Daddy, im making him crumb cake muffins, and the whole house smells so good right now! Which made me look forward to the days when you'll be the little chef in the house, helping Mom & Dad cook, we'll start with the little things first, ok?
Love you Ella! -Mommy
